The cost of Beauty

It is every young girl’s dream to look ‘The Part’ at all times. Beauty, like many always say, IS IN THE EYE OF THE BEHOLDER. Beauty is when you look at yourself in the mirror and say, “WOW! I AM gorgeous, I AM Fierce and above all, I AM Extremely BEAUTIFUL”.

Many may argue that beauty comes from God, but by the looks of things, many still believe they can create it themselves. Altering one’s beauty is a manipulative tactic used to make a person believe in something which is not. Would it be wrong for someone to say they have been deceived because they have been given a different picture rather than the actual? I can only imagine the disappointment of learning that one is a victim of Fakery. We are now leaving in the 21st century where people are selling each other dreams.
It is also said that beauty is vain, and that it covers a multitude of sins, but still, it’s no longer matters of the heart that matter anymore. People instinctively trust and love the beautiful they SEE, never looking beyond that. Most of those in desperation of being beautiful lack self-confidence and will go to every extent to look “beautiful” so as to receive compliments and feel appreciated. If only people allowed the chemistry in their bodies to communicate, the world would be a better place, people will learn from other people’s mistakes, which in turn will serve as guiding flames.

Have you ever stopped and thought about how these beauty enhancement products are made and the effects they have on your skin? Take Lipsticks and eye-shadows for example, every girls’ ‘must have’ piece of Makeup, they contain lead and carcinogens that affect the nervous system leading to high blood pressure, allergies, behavioural abnormalities and even decreased rate of fertility. So ladies, every time you spend five hours in front of the mirror with your face beat under heavy make-up, know that you are slowly limiting your chances to reproduce as well as increasing chances of getting chronic diseases.
It is indeed true that there is a price you pay for everything, the price one pays for beauty includes the worsening of wrinkles, lines and spots that one was attempting to conceal, ultimately making them look older than they actually are. Imagine looking fifty at the age of thirty just because you wanted to entice someone who is probably not a part of your life at that particular point in time. Someone who will not even look at you twice because your miserable face is more likely to remain etched in his mind for the rest of his life. Why is it that people fail to think about the repercussions of their actions before making a decision?
Natural is beautiful, and it is free. One gets to be herself around people without any fear of changing within a split second, or even having to worry about mistakenly rubbing off their eyebrows while hugging someone.

Who are we to be unsatisfied with what has God created knowing it would suit us? Everyone is beautiful in their own way that is why it is STILL said ‘BEAUTY IS IN THE EYES OF A BEHOLDER. The one who truly loves you, will find you beautiful just as you are, with or without makeup.
